Wife to Zach, mama to Zoe and
Eliza. We also have a Great Dane, Olive (the best and worst dog). They are my
very favorites.
Zach and I were set up by a
very dear mutual friend the year we graduated from college. He’s in the Army,
so I follow him around a lot. So far I’ve followed him from Georgia to Virginia
to Germany to South Carolina. Our dog and kids come too.
Before kids, I worked in a
highly technical role as a senior consult at a software company for 6 years,
including one year as the only American in the company’s German branch (which was
one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done). Now I stay at home with our
girls (also one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done, but easily the
best too).
I feel very strongly about
grace, the power of prayer, and Philippians 2:12-13 (working out my salvation
with fear and trembling).
I can slalom waterski and drive
a 5-speed, which I’ve been assured are important life skills to possess, but I
rarely use either. Kind of like algebra.
I’m an avid reader and occasional
writer. Writing helps me process my thoughts, record my memories, and a lot of
times just keeps me amused. I feel compelled to write like some people feel
compelled to cook or work out or do something Pinterest-ing. It clears my head, invigorates me, and makes me happy.
I hate the winter, with the
exception of fresh snow. Being cold both frustrates and saddens me.
I think holiday
celebrations should be just a little bit over the top (particularly Valentine's
Day).
If I had to choose one meal
to eat every day for the rest of my life, it would be a bowl of Cheerios.
I'm an Atlanta native and a
University of Georgia graduate. Georgia will always feel like coming home.
thank you for this wonderful blog. I am an Army wife who followed my husband from Germany to Texas and never regretted a day of it. G-d bless you and your sweet family.
